Fingerprinting Terms & Conditions Overview
Welcome to Jersey Fingerprinting & Notary. These fingerprinting terms & conditions govern your use of our fingerprinting and notary services and our website located at jerseyfingerprinting.info. By using our services or accessing our website, you agree to be bound by these terms & conditions.
1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By scheduling an appointment, visiting our location, using our services, or accessing our website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, as well as our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.
2. SERVICES PROVIDED
Jersey Fingerprinting & Notary provides the following services:
• Ink and Roll Fingerprinting
• Digital/Live Scan Fingerprinting
• FBI Background Checks (FD-258 cards)
• State-level background checks
• FBI & State Apostille Services
• Mobile Fingerprinting Services
• Notary Services
• Mobile Notary Services
• Immigration fingerprinting (USCIS)
• Employment screening fingerprinting
• Professional licensing fingerprinting
• Adoption and foster care fingerprinting
3. APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING AND CANCELLATION
Appointment Booking
• Appointments can be scheduled through our online booking system, by phone, or email
• Walk-ins are welcome subject to availability
• Appointment confirmation will be sent via email or phone
• Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time
Cancellation Policy
• Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance
• Cancellations can be made by phone, email, or through our booking system
• Late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) or no-shows may result in forfeiture of prepaid fees
• Rescheduling is permitted with reasonable notice
Late Arrivals
• Arriving more than 15 minutes late may result in appointment cancellation
• Late arrivals may be accommodated subject to availability
• Please contact us immediately if you anticipate being late
4. PRICING AND PAYMENT
Service Fees
• All service fees are listed on our Pricing page
• Prices are subject to change without notice
• Current pricing will be confirmed at the time of booking
Payment Methods
• We accept cash, credit cards, and debit cards
• Payment is required at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made
• For mobile services, payment is due upon service completion
Refund Policy
• Services rendered are non-refundable
• Refunds for prepaid appointments may be issued for cancellations made with proper notice
• Refunds are processed within 7-10 business days
• No refunds will be issued for rejected fingerprints due to client-related issues (poor print quality, failure to provide proper identification, etc.)
5. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Required Documentation
Clients must bring:
• Valid government-issued photo identification (driver’s license, passport, state ID)
• Any required forms or documentation from requesting agency
• Payment for services
• For minors: Parent or legal guardian must be present with proper identification
Fingerprint Quality
• Clients must have clean, dry hands for fingerprinting
• We reserve the right to refuse service if fingerprints cannot be obtained due to client condition
• Factors affecting print quality include: excessive dryness, moisture, scarring, or worn ridges
• Multiple attempts may be necessary for difficult prints (additional fees may apply)
Accurate Information
• Clients are responsible for providing accurate and complete information
• Errors in information provided by clients may result in rejected applications
• Jersey Fingerprinting is not responsible for rejections due to client-provided inaccurate information
6. SERVICE LIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMERS
No Guarantee of Acceptance
• We do not guarantee that fingerprints will be accepted by the requesting agency
• We do not guarantee background check results or processing times
• Processing times are determined by FBI, state agencies, or other requesting entities
• Jersey Fingerprinting cannot expedite processing by external agencies
Not Legal Advice
• Our services do not constitute legal advice
• We cannot advise on immigration matters, criminal records, or employment eligibility
• Clients should consult with qualified legal professionals for legal questions
Third-Party Services
• Background check processing is performed by FBI, state police, and other government agencies
• We are not responsible for delays, errors, or decisions made by third-party agencies
• Apostille services involve state and federal processing beyond our control
7. MOBILE SERVICES
Service Area
• Mobile services are available within our designated service area in New Jersey
• Travel fees apply based on distance from our Princeton, NJ location
• Minimum service requirements may apply for mobile appointments
Mobile Service Requirements
• Client must provide appropriate workspace for services
• Adequate lighting and flat surface must be available
• Client is responsible for providing safe access to service location
• Services may be refused if location conditions are unsafe or unsuitable
Cancellation for Mobile Services
• Mobile service cancellations require 48 hours notice
• Late cancellations or no-shows for mobile services will incur travel fee charges
8. DATA PROTECTION AND CONFIDENTIALITY
Information Security
• We maintain strict confidentiality of all client information
• Biometric data (fingerprints) is transmitted securely to authorized agencies
• We comply with FBI CJIS Security Policy requirements
• Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy
Data Retention
• Fingerprint images are not retained after transmission to authorized recipients
• Client records are maintained as required by law and business operations
• Records retention complies with applicable state and federal regulations
9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

• All content on jerseyfingerprinting.info is owned by Jersey Fingerprinting & Notary
• Content includes text, images, logos, graphics, and design elements
• Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of our content is prohibited
• Trademarks and service marks are the property of their respective owners
10. PROHIBITED CONDUCT
Clients agree not to:
• Provide false information or fraudulent identification
• Use our services for illegal purposes
• Attempt to circumvent security measures or background check processes
• Harass, threaten, or abuse our staff
• Damage our property or equipment
• Interfere with other clients’ appointments or services
Violation of these prohibitions may result in:
• Immediate termination of services
• Refusal of future services
• Reporting to appropriate authorities
• Legal action for damages
11. LIABILITY AND INDEMNIFICATION
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
• Jersey Fingerprinting’s liability is limited to the amount paid for services
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• We are not liable for damages resulting from third-party agency decisions or delays
• We are not liable for rejected fingerprints due to natural ridge patterns or client conditions
Client Indemnification
Clients agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jersey Fingerprinting & Notary from:
• Claims arising from client’s use of our services
• Damages resulting from client-provided inaccurate information
• Claims related to background check results or employment decisions
• Third-party claims arising from client’s conduct
12. FORCE MAJEURE
We are not liable for failure to perform services due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:
• Natural disasters, severe weather, or public health emergencies
• Government actions, regulations, or orders
• Power outages, internet failures, or technology malfunctions
• Labor disputes or transportation disruptions
• FBI or state agency system outages
In such events, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule services or provide refunds as appropriate.
13. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Governing Law
• These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey
• Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of New Jersey courts
• Venue for any legal proceedings shall be in Mercer County, New Jersey
Mediation and Arbitration
• Parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing litigation
• Disputes may be submitted to binding arbitration by mutual agreement
• Each party bears their own costs unless otherwise agreed
14. MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective when:
• Posted on our website with updated “Effective Date”
• Communicated to clients with scheduled appointments (for material changes)
• Continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance of modified Terms
Clients are encouraged to review these Terms periodically for updates.
15. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Invalid provisions will be modified to reflect the parties’ intent to the maximum extent permitted by law.
16. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These Terms & Conditions, along with our Privacy Policy, make up the entire agreement between you and Jersey Fingerprinting & Notary for our fingerprinting and notary services. These Terms & Conditions override any previous agreements or understandings.
